How easy / hard was it to talk about your business idea? Why?

It was very easy to talk about my business idea with the group in class. To start with I believe I have a good business idea and confidence never hurts, although there are challenges that were both expected but reaffirmed during our discussion. The group interaction was very productive, positive in affect, honest, critical, supportive and yet challenging toward improvement. There did not appear to be any significant communication barriers within the group and I believed it was a very comfortable interaction.

The business idea I presented to the group was about printing replacement and inventory parts for a wide variety of equipment, infrastructure and hardware part needs. There was an added service that could be incorporated in some instances, of what I termed 3dmail but will likely reconsider. The idea of the shipping being that the necessity to 3d print as a core function of the business lends itself well to printing regionally according to shipping destination. Then most of the shipping distance is traveled electronically. The group reaffirmed some concerns with legal barriers and some possible solutions. They also proposed the idea of separating the printing, as a part supply function (product), and the shipping as a 3d printing function (service), if possible.

The discussion on all business ideas was very open, honestly critical and yet respectful and supportive. Where challenging questions were revealed, answers and suggestions followed and were generally well received as best I could determine. The only communication barriers were minor and seemed to center on conceptualizing the business ideas and the communication challenges with communicating both concept, vision and end state. It was a very good discussion and I believe all benefited from the interactions.
